Born 1934, Jean grew up in London’s East End before joining a circus at the tender age of 14 and embarked upon a remarkable and highly successful theatrical career. By the late 1950s Jean had toured the country playing dozens of variety theatres and appearing in several leading pantomimes before joining London’s famous Windmill Theatre and performing with such legendary figures as Harry Secombe and Bruce Forsyth.
